The Halloween Night No One Expected 🤯👻
The night when I became Anthony Rose and Dan Jacobs became me 😱😱😱
Two nights ago we hosted our Halloween-themed Open Mic Pitching event! 🎃
It was a huge success — but let’s be honest, many things didn’t go according to plan (what a surprise, right?):
• The venue changed owners and was renamed, but it wasn’t yet updated on Google Maps… while the old name said “permanently closed.” 😭
That didn’t confuse anyone at all, obviously. 🙃
• We were supposed to have a scavenger hunt, but I forgot to bring the prizes (oops), so we had to skip it.
• The new venue management wasn’t familiar with the PA system, so I had to turn into a sound engineer for a bit and figure it out myself.
• And the best one — we planned a “real” summoning ritual to call on the spirits of the past and make the night truly scary 👀 But my pentagram on the floor kept getting knocked over by attendees, and the venue wasn’t allowed to turn off the lights… so, yeah, we had to skip that too.
Even with all that, the night turned out amazing! It was spooky, chaotic, and fun — exactly how it should be. 😂
It was so cool to see so many founders dressing up and actually getting into it — loved it! ❤️
I was lucky enough to have two costumes. The first one (planned for the ritual) was so creepy that no one realised it was me. I didn’t talk back when people tried to chat, and honestly, I thought someone might punch me in the face at some point 😂 But hey, all part of the act.
After that, I changed into my second costume — Anthony Rose himself 😎 I walked around in a SeedLegals t-shirt and played the role so well that some attendees actually thought SeedLegals were the ones hosting the event 😜
And just when I thought my idea was unique… Dan showed up dressed as me! It was hilarious and easily my favourite costume of the night (yes, I’m biased).
