Best feeling in the world? Walking into a new city and bumping into people you already know from a completely different part of your journey.

Earlier this week we hosted our 1st ever Open Mic Pitching in Manchester.

Knowing how active the startup community is there, we wanted to do it for a while and we’re glad that Silicon Mingle helped us make it happen.

Within the 1st hour in Manchester we ran into Felix Robinson. Later we met Carla Speight, Saritha Kinkiri, Rory Southworth, Vladimir Muhlem, and many others.

The cherry on top was meeting Ian Roper, who drove 3 hours just to help us out at the event. Words can’t express how much that means to me personally, seeing people in our community making so much effort to support us.

And now back to the event!

It was refreshing to present to a completely new crowd. Reading the room wasn’t easy at first it felt like our style, water guns, and my jokes just didn’t land. But I was wrong. People loved it! So many attendees came up after to say how much they enjoyed the event. It was unbelievable.

A special thank you to Amanda Graham, who jumped on stage and did an impromptu crash training on how to pitch. With her experience pitching scripts to the likes of Apple, it was invaluable.

Overall: amazing experience, amazing people, and amazing energy in the room!
